We're quickly falling from Fall into Winter. A few shots from around the farm on a rare warm fall day.
Fall means bringing home and stacking hay. Unfortunately, it means going through all the mud the fall rains were nice enough to leave behind.
Not only mud...but standing water in the corrals.
Fall also means calf weaning time. One of my favorite times of the year. I love having all the baby calves close by.
It also means winter coats for the horses.
The peaks and valleys between the highs and lows in temps have brought on something unwanted. Pneumonia. Poor Einstein is in the barn fighting it off. He's one of our bottle calves from this spring.
Our other bottle calf, Marley, who is half holstein and half jersey.
Marley hoping he can talk me into a bottle. He's the baby and never lets me forget it.
I just love his nose.
And our spring kitten Brandy is finally growing up.
